“Each one of our 25 color combinations was chosen with a specific look in mind. Every color in a DNA Portrait must work well together. That's the kind of attention to detail we're looking for in this contest. --Melissa Edwards, CanvasPop lead designer.

The creative minds that brought the first DNA Portrait to the masses are looking for some help. In an effort to expand the color palette offerings for their hugely popular DNA Portraits, DNA 11 has partnered up with the creative community at COLOURlovers for some design inspiration.
Starting today, the COLOURlovers members will be able to create their own original DNA Portrait color combinations online. The community will choose ten finalists who will then square off to see which five will be chosen to become a permanent part of the DNA 11 collection.
“Each one of our 25 color combinations was chosen with a specific look in mind. Every color in a DNA Portrait must work well together,” said Melissa Edwards, lead designer. “That's the kind of attention to detail we're looking for in this contest.”
People from around the world create and share colors, palettes, patterns and discuss the latest trends on the COLOURlovers website.
"It’s all about helping millions of people share their unique color ideas and inspirations, so we're obviously stoked to work with DNA11 to help people create the most personalized kind of beautiful art,” said Darius Monsef, founder and CEO of COLOURlovers.
This contest comes quick on the heels of DNA 11 launching its new crowdsourcing design platform DNA 11 Labs last week, where members of the community are encouraged to help with product design by voting for their favorite design concepts and even suggesting their own.
Original DNA 11 concepts such as the new DNA Rug are already seeing massive support.
“We're very picky about our color palettes, they are not chosen by chance,” said Spencer Callaghan, director of marketing. “However when the opportunity to partner with COLOURlovers came up, we knew it was going to be a great fit for our design aesthetic.”
