Just Between Friends http://www.JustBetweenFriends.com, the official communications and membership system for PTA as well as other groups, and VolunteerSpot, the free online volunteer scheduling tool used by PTAs, schools, nonprofits and volunteer leaders to quickly mobilize and coordinate volunteers, present a free webinar “How to Supercharge your PTA, Parent Group, or Team with Social Media” 10/24 at 4pm EST and 10/25 at 12pm EST http://socialmediapta.eventbrite.com/.

During the 1-hour webinar, groups will learn how social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter can help strengthen efforts and supercharge growth. Through insights and examples, attendees will discover the importance of using social media to build community and spirit; spread news efficiently; increase volunteering; boost fundraising; and spark action online and in the real world.

The webinar will be led by two experts in social media, volunteering and parent group communities. Karen Bantuveris is Founder & CEO of VolunteerSpot and Fran Lytle is a Behaviorist and Director of Marketing for Just Between Friends. Karen and Fran are dedicated to mentoring groups and teams and boosting parent participation at school and in the community.

“Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter are powerful community-building tools for engaging parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors,” states Karen. “Extending a parent-group’s reach beyond the campus cultivates trust and boosts turnout when it comes to volunteering, fundraising and calls to action on behalf of our kids.”

Fran comments, “Volunteers have a real passion for implementing the goals of their groups. They work all day and then devote time and effort to retain and grow membership while keeping members engaged in the group’s mission. Using social media will help these volunteers effectively and efficiently increase the depth and frequency of their outreach.”

The webinar is sponsored by eFundraising (http://www.efundraising.com/) a division of TI Media Solutions Inc., a Time Inc. company. eFundraising has helped students raise billions of dollars in profits for enrichment programs and worthwhile projects that are vital to a meaningful, well-rounded education.
