The Whatcom County Deputy Sheriff's Guild has pledged it's support of Bill Elfo to be re-elected as Sheriff.

“The Whatcom County Deputy Sheriff’s Guild is pleased to announce that we have voted to endorse you as the candidate for Whatcom County Sheriff.

“Congratulations and we look forward to working with you in the future to make Whatcom County “Safe Today and Safer Tomorrow.” -Whatcom County Deputy Sheriff’s Guild endorsement letter dated October 13, 2011.

“Teamwork and cooperation are important to effective law enforcement,” said Sheriff Elfo after receiving notice of the Deputy Sheriff’s Guild’s endorsement. “It is a honor, and a bit humbling, to have over 80% of the Whatcom County Deputies voting in the Guild’s endorsement election supporting my re-election as Sheriff. I look forward to continuing our successful working relationships with all law enforcement professionals who serve and protect our community,” said Sheriff Elfo.

The Deputy Sheriff’s Guild endorsement joins a long list of organized Whatcom County law enforcement officials and organizations that have endorsed Sheriff Elfo for re-election. All organized law enforcement organizations and officials that have made endorsements during this years election have endorsed Bill Elfo for Sheriff, including but not limited to: every local Police Chief; the Whatcom Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association representing the leadership of local, state and federal law enforcement; the Bellingham Police Guild; organizations representing Police Officers in Blaine, Lynden, Everson and Nooksack; the Washington State Patrol Troopers Association; the National Border Patrol Council; Customs and Border Protection Officers represented by the National Treasury Employees; our own Prosecuting Attorney, Dave McEachran; and State Attorney General, Rob McKenna.
