Cabot Gun Company, LLC is excited to announce the addition of Brian Zins as Spokesman and Ambassador for Cabot Guns.
Brian “Gunny” Zins has a rather storied history in the world of shooting. While popularly known from his appearances on the History Channel's “Top Shot: season two,” many shooting enthusiasts know of Brian's impressive off-screen background. A recently-retired Marine, Brian is a ten-time NRA Pistol Champion and holds more than 30 national records in NRA Indoor and Outdoor Conventional Pistol Shooting. A competitive shooter for the Marine Corps Pistol team and FBI trained, Brian is also a Marine Corps instructor in combat marksmanship.
“Brian Zins is able to demonstrate what Cabot Guns can do,” said Cabot Guns President Robert Bianchin. “There is no better shooter we could team with to test the workmanship and the precision of Cabot Guns.” A maker of exceptional 1911 model handguns, Cabot Guns are the first 1911 National Match Grade pistols that are built without hand fitting.
Asked to comment, Gunny Zins offered, "Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a 1911 guy. I am excited to be working with Cabot Guns and their impressive line of American made 1911's."
Cabot Guns is currently producing a limited number of 1911s making Cabot Gun owners part of an exclusive club: only 45 pieces were made for 2011 and in 2012 production will be limited to 200 guns. And beyond the limited production run of these impressive pieces, Cabot owners will benefit from exclusive offers and services – one example is an owners' weekend planned for June of 2012 which will feature extensive training by Brian Zins.
Bianchin added, “We are honored to have Brian as part of our team. Brian will allow Cabot Guns to further our commitment to develop and innovate our products. We also are excited to show what Cabot 1911s can do in the hands of a true marksman.”
A short history on Cabot Guns: we mention above that ours are the first 1911 National Match Grade pistols that are built without hand fitting. This is possible because all components within a Cabot gun are standardized to exact specifications. This means that all parts are interchangeable without gunsmithing. This is a feature Cabot Guns refers to as “clone technology”.
Cabot guns are machined from solid blocks of 4140 billet steel to within tolerances of 2/10,000th of an inch. Cabot believes our frames and slides are the most highly-engineered components ever made for a 1911.
Cabot Guns is collaboration between Cabot Guns and Penn United Technologies Inc., a world-leading precision manufacturer. Together, they design, build and market four model 1911 handguns currently, with more to come.
Penn United Technologies' proprietary tech allows the frame and slide of a Cabot 1911 to be completely interchangeable with other Cabot 1911 frames and slides. This is unheard of in the industry and is technology other gun companies simply do not utilize.
Orders can now be placed to reserve one of the 2012 production units. The first units will be available in late January. A limited quantity of only 200 units of four models offered by Cabot Guns is planned for production in 2012.
