Loyola Press announced the launch of an updated and expanded version of its ground-breaking religious education curriculum, Finding God: Our Response to God’s Gifts. This comprehensive Catholic faith formation program for children in grades one to six was launched in 2005, inspired by the insight of Saint Ignatius Loyola that people are called not just to know about God, but to experience a lifelong relationship with God. The original Finding God has been prized for the many ways it supports catechists and children with innovative and engaging opportunities to pray as well as learn.
While the updated version retains many of the features that catechists, parents, and children love about the original—including its multiple prayer opportunities—the program adds many new and exciting elements. One new component in each grade is the Exploring Faith Through Art easel, a collection of 150 inspiring traditional and modern artworks from around the world that connect to the faith themes in each lesson. Each artwork is accompanied by full catechist instructions and acts as a springboard for faith-filled discussion and a variety of experiential activities.
No matter the setting, whether it be the Catholic school, a traditional religious education program, or a Catholic faith formation program that uses a blended approach with intergenerational events, Finding God 2013 meets faith formation needs.
“We offer multiple ways for children to learn about their faith,” says Paul Brian Campbell, S.J., Publisher of Loyola Press. “Art, music, movement, and online games appeal to differing learning styles and enable children to grow in faith.”
The ample, easy-to-use resources in Finding God 2013 invite children and entire families into a lifelong relationship with God through the full and authentic teachings of the Catholic Church. Sound doctrine, Scripture, Tradition, and Catholic Social Teachings are at the heart of this comprehensive spiraling curriculum.
Finding God 2013 was developed to engage the whole person—mind, heart, and imagination—in the journey of faith, and to prepare each individual to go into the world as a joyful, devoted disciple of Jesus.
