The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra has significantly updated its Facebook status by launching the ability for patrons to purchase tickets directly through the leading online social media network. The organization is the first in Canada to launch ShoWare™ Social Media Connect, enabling fans to further engage with its brand in new and meaningful ways.

ShoWare Social Media Connect allows venues to get the most from the social media revolution by selling tickets directly from its Facebook fan page with real-time inventory management and credential validation. Built-in sharing features help venues gain "followers" on Twitter and "fans" on Facebook and ultimately boost sales.

Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra created its Facebook page three seasons ago, and has used it as an active part of its overall communications strategy by posting information about the orchestra and encouraging interaction with its fans. They currently have more than 2,000 fans and expect that the Facebook ticketing capability will encourage more growth.
