Ashley Gideon of Aurora, IL began her sweepstakes hobby some 15 years ago. “Years ago,” she explained, “I used to subscribe to a sweepstakes newsletter. It would come out… every two weeks… I received it by mail and would enter the sweepstakes I wanted to enter by hand and mail them in.”

“The first thing I won after I started entering sweeps,” she continued, “were pots and pans from Farmland Foods/Le Creuset. The value … was $500.00. Since then I have won tons of things…phones, an Xbox, DVD’s, games for my kids, a gun cleaning kit, T-shirts, an iPad… Even the small wins are big wins to me. When a package comes, no matter what it is, it makes me smile!”

Gideon got her first computer in 2008. “(An online sweepstakes site) was one of the first things I searched for… and SweepstakesToday.com (http://www.sweepstakestoday.com) came up, I registered and have been a member ever since I love the ‘easiness’ of the site and I love the ’family’ atmosphere that is there,” she said.

The trip to Las Vegas is her second win to that city, and the one that put her into the exclusive 10K Club at the website, she reported. “It was wonderful to find out that I made it into the 10K club. It was a feeling of accomplishment… making it into the 10K Cub was a great payoff.”

“With my Vegas trip I did win a $600.00 gift card that I could spend wherever I wanted. With my New York/Estee Lauder trip I won a $1000.00 Bloomingdale gift card which allowed me to buy whatever I wanted from Bloomingdales which was great. I bought my boyfriend some watches and got lots of my favorite perfume, White Linen! “

“I do not work outside of my home anymore,” she concluded, “and sweepstaking keeps me company when I am alone during the day.”
