Use cases ensure a clear project vision that is easy to understand, has the right level of detail and maintains focus on high-value functionality.

Serlio Software Development Corporation today announced CaseComplete 2012. The newest version of CaseComplete requirements management software provides powerful yet easy-to-use tools for gathering, organizing and communicating software project requirements.

Use Cases at the Foundation

CaseComplete drives requirements with use cases - a technique that focuses on what is most important to end users and how they will interact with a new system – to ensure a clear project vision that is easy to understand, has the right level of detail and maintains focus on high-value functionality.

Multi-Tiered Dictionary

CaseComplete 2012 incorporates the ability to create multiple dictionaries to define terms and data structures at the enterprise, departmental and project levels. “Our large enterprise customers asked us to extend the CaseComplete project dictionary to incorporate definitions of corporate data and domain-specific terms from different sources,” noted Matt Terski, Serlio President and founder. “These new capabilities will allow them to independently maintain data and terminology definitions at any number of levels and easily apply those to new projects.”

Testing Scenarios

The new version of CaseComplete also facilitates validation of requirements with the ability to create test cases for use cases and requirements. “Independent verification that a system is being built consistently with the use cases can’t start too early,” said Terski. “Analysts and designers can now create any number of test scenarios right along with their use cases and requirements. CaseComplete keeps the use cases and the corresponding test scenarios in sync so that the test team is always working with up-to-date test procedures.”

Scripted Deployment

CaseComplete 2012 includes the ability to use automated deployment tools for large-scale installation and licensing. “This will make rollouts of CaseComplete to large project teams a lot easier,” commented Jeff Marver, Serlio Vice President and lead software architect. “Installation and license activation used to require two separate, manual steps. IT departments using deployment software can now roll out CaseComplete in a single automated process.”

Pricing and Availability

CaseComplete 2012 is available now at and through most software resellers. Single licenses are available for USD$699, and team bundles start at five users for USD$2799. Upgrade pricing is available for earlier versions of CaseComplete.
