"The movie was shot in just nine days." Director Fred A. Sayeg
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 24, 2011
Director Fred A. Sayeg told the enthusiastic audience how the movie was shot in just nine days. The award was received by Fred A. Sayeg, lead actor Gene Pietragallo (Tony Duran) and Producer/Screenwriter Mitchell Cohen. Mr. Sayeg had just arrived in Santa Fe from Wichita, KS where co-star Elliott Gould received the Ad Astra Lifetime Achievement Award after the film received a heartfelt reception on October 21, 2011.
The Encore of Tony Duran tells the story of a down-and-out singer (Gene Pietragallo) on the day he hits rock bottom. The victim of personal and financial failure, Tony is a broken man. However, just when he thinks life can't get any worse, he finds redemption with the help of his mentor (Gould), his son (Kasch), and his muse (a decidedly dressed down Ziering). Embarking on a human transformation to become the man he aspires to be, Tony works to turn his life around losing nearly 50lbs, and reconciling with his son.
The Encore of Tony Duran recently was awarded The Jury Award for Best Feature Film at the Las Vegas Film Festival. Now receiving the Best Feature Film Award at the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival is truly an indication how this Indie darling is capturing the hearts of the audience allowing them to see a little of themselves in Tony Duran and feel the redemption and inspiration that resonates with many of us.
The Encore of Tony Duran’s lead actor Gene Pietragallo (Hill Street Blues) is now staging a successful comeback thanks to his outstanding performance and stirring vocals (yes, that’s really Gene singing in the film).
