Queen City Forging Increases Manufacturing Capacity at Cincinnati Facility by Obtaining 3 Forging Presses in Cooperative Research and Lease Agreement with Ohio State University.

Queen City Forging has acquired three major pieces of forging equipment, as part of a cooperative research agreement the company recently entered with Ohio State University. The agreement calls for QC Forge to lease these forging machines, which had been idle and unused in an OSU laboratory facility since 2004. In September, rigging and transport crews moved the refurbished 1300 ton Ajax forging press and a new Interpower 250 KW induction heater into the QC Forge Cincinnati facility. The third item, a 350 ton Savage hydraulic press, is currently in storage in a nearby warehouse until a site is prepared at the QC Forge facility.

"We are looking forward to the increased capacity and capabilities these pieces of equipment will provide, as well as a new opportunity to engage in research that is valuable to QC Forge and the forging industry”, stated Rob Mayer, President of QC Forge. “Our research agreement anticipates, not only R&D work sponsored by OSU, but also the potential to cooperate with other Ohio based colleges and universities, the Forging Industry Association, National Laboratories and projects which may extend to other research centers in need of forging equipment for use in experiments."
