Sherwood Oaks College Screenwriting Students Pitch Movie Ideas to Top Hollywood Representatives

Sherwood Oaks College screenwriting students attending a two day class on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29, 2011 will have the opportunity to learn from and meet many of Hollywood’s top agents and managers.

Day one on October 28th, students will meet with agents, managers and entertainment attorneys at the Beverley Wilshire Hotel. The full day of instruction will consist of various panel discussions with top Hollywood representatives. Students will have the opportunity to present a one-page synopsis of a current writing project to the speakers as well.

Day-one students will also gain feedback of screenwriting project pitches from Christopher Lockhart of the William Morris Endeavor agency during the morning session.

The following day on October 29th, students will receive instruction and feedback on pitching their ideas by leading industry expert and Sherwood Oaks principal Gary Shusett followed by pitch sessions to agents, managers and entertainment attorneys during the morning and afternoon. The entire day will take place at The Showbiz Store and Café in Los Angeles.

Many students have gained representation from attending this Sherwood Oaks class favorite in the past and several have gained writing assignments from relationships established in the class.

Sherwood Oaks is a unique school that allows students to give agents, managers and attorneys’ material. Most schools, seminars and expos will not allow their students to give material to a professional guest. Sherwood Oaks maintains a unique relationship with its speakers however and encourages students to give one sheets to guest speakers.

The cost for day-one of the class is $149 if registration is done before the event. The cost for day-of registration for day one is $195 per day. The pre registration cost for day two is $195 and $295 for day-of registration.
