The World Series of Beer Pong is a not-to-miss event featuring everything from the best of the best in beer pong play to costumes that go way beyond anything you'll see at a Halloween party.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 26, 2011
Halloween is usually synonymous with candy and costume parties, but this year BPONG.COM wants to remind players interested in competing in the 2012 World Series of Beer Pong, that Oct. 31, 2011, marks the deadline for early-bird sign-ups for the Seventh Annual World Series of Beer Pong® (WSOBP VII). The event, which is sponsored by NuVo Condoms and held at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino Jan. 1-5, 2012, pays a total of $65,000 in prize money, including $50,000 to the winning team, and that’s no trick. Players interested in taking advantage of the early-bird registration rate must do so online at http://www.bpong.com by 11:59 p.m. on October 31, as rates increase by $50 per person starting at midnight on Nov. 1, 2011.
“Unless you’re a world traveler, The World Series of Beer Pong is pretty much the only way a beer pong player can see how good he or she really is at this growing international sporting competition,” said Billy Gaines, co-founder of The WSOBP. “Whether you’re planning to enter the competition or just want to see what it’s all about, the World Series of Beer Pong is a not-to-miss event featuring everything from the best of the best in beer pong play to costumes that go way beyond anything you’ll see at a Halloween party.”
The 2012 World Series of Beer Pong is expected to draw more than 500 teams from at least 48 U.S. states/districts and nearly a dozen countries. The WSOBP VII is sponsored by NuVo Condoms, which will be giving out freebies to all the players during the tournament, as well as a year’s supply of NuVo Condoms to the winners. Players and spectators will also enjoy a treat of free samples and prizes from NuVo and other great exhibitors. Nuvo Condoms and BPONG.COM are all about fun in a safe environment, a message both companies hope young adults will heed this Halloween and during all of their annual celebrations.
Those unfamiliar with the sport of beer pong may be surprised to know that it has become popular with celebrities, baby boomers, college grads and elite athletes alike, yet no female team has ever won the event. WSOBP rules allow for play with beer, water or another liquid. During play, two teams stand at opposite ends of an 8-foot-long table, where ten 16-ounce cups, partially filled with roughly 4 ounces of beer or another liquid, are placed in a bowling-pin formation. Each team takes turns tossing beer pong balls (similar to table tennis balls) at their opponent’s cup formation. If a ball goes into a cup, the cup is removed from the game. The first team to eliminate its opponent’s cups wins.
The WSOBP is the largest organized beer pong tournament in the world, created by Las Vegas-based BPONG.COM. The company’s website is the Center of the Beer Pong Universe™, providing a center for collaboration and discussion about the sport of beer pong. Players interested in registering for the WSOBP VII must do so online at http://www.bpong.com before the Dec. 10, 2011 deadline. Player packages currently start at $450. All packages are priced per person and include a four-night hotel stay and entrance into the WSOBP VII. Players are encouraged to register by October 31 since the package prices increase by $50 per person starting at midnight on Nov. 1, 2011.
