BlinkerActive, the sister marketing agency of IRIS Distribution is thrilled to announce the release of Nick Carter’s album, I’m Taking Off: Relaunched & Remixed, out on November 15th, 2011. To create the album, BlinkerActive teamed Nick Carter up with Indaba Music to give remixers and fans worldwide an opportunity to collaborate on five songs from Carter’s studio release, I’m Taking Off.. While Carter’s primary online fan base are pop music fans that are18- 34 year old women as demonstrated by his 228,697 Facebook fans and 235,749 Twitter followers, his recent sold out tour with the Backstreet Boys also drew an older crowd who have appreciated the singer since his first album went gold in 2002. There were many sold out dates on the popular worldwide tour including one at Fenway Park in Boston. BlinkerActive and Indaba brought crowd sourcing into the picture, and I’m Taking Off was re-imagined by a network of producers tapping into a new fan base of over half a million musicians and remixers. On average across all five remix campaigns (one per song), over 21% of all remixers were older than 35 and over 55% were older than 25, clearly giving Carter’s album attention from an older crowd. There were more than 1,843 entrants and 530 submissions were received worldwide. The end result from this exposure was something brand new for Carter, an album comprised completely of remixes that blurs the genre line and appeals to a wide mass of pop and electronic music fans alike.
