Calistoga, CA (PRWEB) October 26, 2011
Solbar, the 125-seat signature restaurant at Napa Valley’s Solage Calistoga, has been honored with a Michelin Star for the third year in a row in the Michelin Guide San Francisco, Bay Area & Wine Country 2012 guide, released today. Internationally recognized as the preeminent culinary authority, Michelin named Solbar among an elite group of just 47 Bay Area restaurants of which 17 are in Napa Valley, as the best of the best. To evaluate restaurants included in the influential guide, highly-trained Michelin inspectors anonymously visit each establishment, provide objective assessments and judge on five criteria: the quality of products used, the mastering of flavors and cooking, the “personality” of the cuisine, and the value and the consistency of dishes prepared.
“It’s such an incredible honor to have Solbar recognized with a Michelin Star for a third straight year,” says Executive Chef, Brandon Sharp. “On behalf of the entire Solbar team, I want to recognize and thank our loyal and enthusiastic diners for their ongoing support – they are the true inspiration behind the passion we bring to the kitchen every day.”
Celebrating their five year anniversary in 2012, Solbar and Solage Calistoga are firmly entrenched as a “can’t miss” destination for foodies seeking a relaxed luxury experience, artfully paired with seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine showcasing the best of California flavors. Sharp’s much-lauded approach to menu design, featuring a constantly changing dichotomy of hearty, indulgent dishes balanced with healthy, lighter fare, and has inspired legions of repeat guests to Solbar. Whether dining inside near the cozy fireplace in the restaurants’ contemporary barn-like interior, or al fresco on the patio overlooking the resorts’ landmark 130-foot pool, diners have developed a deep appreciation for Sharp’s approachable style which masterfully combines his southern influence with farm fresh ingredients and seasonal aesthetic of classic Napa Valley cuisine.
Executive Chef Brandon Sharp has honed his skills in some of the best kitchens in the country including tenures at Michelin star-rated Gary Danko in San Francisco, Restaurant August in New Orleans and the world-renowned French Laundry in Napa Valley. Sharp has recently been featured on The Food Network’s “Best Thing I Ever Ate” and was recognized by Cooking Light magazine as a “2011 Trailblazing Chef” for healthy cuisine.
Solbar is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with brunch on Sundays. For more information or to make a reservation, please call 707.226.0850 or visit http://www.solagecalistoga.com/dining.
