The Dallas, Texas based law firm, Fletcher, Farley, Shipman & Salinas LLP, added seven new attorneys this year as part of the firm’s strategic growth designed to better serve current and future clients of the firm.

Fletcher Farley Shipman & Salinas LLP is pleased to announce its continued strategic growth and expansion as it welcomes seven new associate attorneys to the firm. These additions to the team strengthen Fletcher Farley’s position as one of the most successful mid-size law firms in Texas, serving clients statewide through their offices in Dallas and Austin.

Jes Alexander joins the firm as an associate in its Appellate practice group. He has more than seven years of experience in appeals, insurance coverage defense and commercial litigation. He handles all aspects of insurance coverage matters for insurance carriers and insureds, and is experienced at all stages of litigation, including drafting complex pre-and post-trial motions. Jes graduated from Boston University School of Law in 2003, and received a B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from Tulane University in 2000.

Jennifer Calvin focuses on defense litigation, handling cases involving construction defects, premises liability, professional liability and general negligence. She brings valuable previous experience at another insurance defense firm handling wrongful death cases, trucking accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability and personal injury cases. She makes this return to civil litigation after prosecuting over 50 jury trials as an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas County, Texas. She earned her J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 2004, where she was a member of the National Order of Barristers. Prior to law school, Jennifer worked as a paralegal for several years. Jennifer received her B.A. from the University of North Texas in 1993.

B.J. Jones joins the firm as an associate in the Construction Litigation practice group. BJ represents general contractors and subcontractors against allegations of defective construction, breach of contract and related torts. His extensive trial experience spans the last decade and includes favorable verdicts in more than 50 cases. B.J. is also a certified mediator. He received his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2002 and a B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from McMurry University in 1997.

Michael Mills focuses on defense litigation, handling a broad spectrum of cases involving construction defect, premises liability, products liability, and transportation matters. Michael graduated from seminary in 1995, and spent more than a decade in active ministry before entering law school. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Alabama in 2009, where he was selected for membership in the Order of Barristers, and also served as the Ethics Opinions Editor for the Journal of the Legal Profession. Michael earned two prior degrees from the University of Montevallo, a B.S. in 1989 and his M.A. in 1991.

Mark C. Roberts II joins the firm as an associate focusing on defense work in Personal Injury, Premises Liability and Product Liability. His experience includes personal injury, property damages, construction, product liability, securities and financial services litigation, and professional negligence cases. In addition, Mark is a certified mediator. He graduated from St. Mary’s Law School in 1993, and received a B.B.A. in Accounting and a B.A. in Economics from Southern Methodist University in 1989.

Casey Scott's practice emphasizes a broad spectrum of matters involving civil litigation, including insurance defense, commercial litigation, premises liability, products liability and personal injury claims. He joins the firm as an associate in its Business & Commercial Litigation practice group. Casey received a J.D. from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in 2009 and a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Religion and Psychology from Baylor University in 2006.

Patrick Whitaker practices civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance defense, commercial litigation, premises liability, products liability, and personal injury claims. Patrick is a graduate of the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas, where he received his J.D. in 2007. He earned his B.B.A. from Baylor University in 1998.
