RANDA Solutions provides innovative tools for education and teacher improvement
Simply put, we leverage technology to improve teacher effectiveness.

RANDA Solutions today announced an initiative to produce a comprehensive suite of educator tools for states, districts, consortia and teachers. This approach to addressing the needs of educators is both holistic and plays to RANDA’s strength in education data collection, management and reporting.

Marty Reed, RANDA’s CEO commented, “Simply put, we leverage technology to improve teacher effectiveness. Effective and accessible innovation fuels every RANDA solution, but our energies are always focused. We’re always asking ourselves ‘How can technology streamline tedious tasks for educators? How can we produce real improvements in their performance and quality of life? How can we truly transform education?” These questions have led RANDA to develop innovations that produce improvements in everything from K-12 state-wide assessments to higher education mobile applications, as well as a number of patents pending.

In remaining focused on providing reliable and accessible education data, RANDA has maintained a content-agnostic philosophy across virtually all technology platforms. This philosophy has made RANDA highly adaptable for clients, and good team mate when working in tandem with other vendors. It has earned RANDA several acknowledgments such as their two successive INC 500 listings. Further, the firm’s approach has drawn the attention of educators in a number of international markets.

RANDA began its education work in decoupling content from data management in state-wide student summative assessments and aggregating it with other pertinent data from a number of vendors and a myriad of formats. Contracts in this arena led RANDA to develop expertise in role-based data portal development and management. Subsequent RANDA initiatives have included mobile applications for formative assessments and teacher evaluations- initiatives which grew into versions in Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese.

“We’ve learned so much on this journey and not just on the software side. Our pilot studies have shown us the importance of active listening and integrating feedback into our solution designs. We’ve also become very good at developing engaging and effective training, which is essential. What good is a superb data tool if you don’t know how to use it?” quips Reed.

“Our announcement of a comprehensive suite of educator tools is only formalizing what RANDA has been planning,” says their Chief Strategy Officer, Randall Dennis. “We have forged a culture that values innovation, but innovation with a strategy to address all kinds of challenges facing educators.” RANDA’s goals include increasing involvement in state-wide student summative assessments, adding to valuable features to their popular TOWER System and TOWER Mobile for iPads and Android devices. It includes formative assessments and classroom management via mobile devices. RANDA’s HOMEROOM solution integrates data reporting from all types of data into secure portals available in a role-based context at the state, district, administrator and teacher levels. There is a SaaS toolbox for subject matter experts to easily develop courses and export them as SCORM-compliant packages for learning management systems. RANDA is also soon to release their item development portal for student assessments. Additionally, there is a undisclosed project related to common core standards in the first phase of development.

“It’s not that we need to keep our plans top secret simply because we execute them so well,” adds Reed. “Our real competitive advantage is our experts in education, development, project management and training.” As each component is tested in pilot studies, the components of RANDA’s educator suite will be unveiled in phases over the coming weeks, months and year.
