Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) October 31, 2011
In May 2011, Dupli-Color® Products set out to find the next generation of Do-It-Yourselfers through the Dupli-Color® Restoration Challenge Generation Next. High School Vocational Automotive Programs throughout the country had the opportunity to submit the automotive project they would complete in their Fall Curriculums if they were given all the Dupli-Color® Products necessary. The winners would receive not only all the Dupli-Color® Products to complete their projects, but also a $5,000 Shopping Spree at one of Dupli-Color’s retail partners and Scholarships to Ohio Technical College. From the hundreds of submissions received, Dupli-Color® has chosen the top three (3) winners to participate in Restoration Challenge Generation Next and now it is time to see what they can do.
Congratulations to the three (3) winners:
- Kansas City Kansas Community College High School Technical Education Program (Kansas City, KS) – 1979 2-Door Malibu Station Wagon
- Paris Gibson Education Center (Great Falls, MT) – 1965 Ford Mustang
- Monterey High School (Monterey, CA) – 1964 ½ Ford Mustang
Beyond the $5,000 Shopping Spree that each school received courtesy of Advance Auto Parts, O’Reillys, and Pep Boys, every member of each team will also receive a scholarship to Ohio Technical College.
And here’s the cool part… fan votes will decide which team gets the bigger scholarships as well as a party for their entire school, DJ’ed by FunkMaster Flex! That’s right, from now until December 18, fans can log on to the Dupli-Color® Facebook Page at facebook.com/duplicolor to stay up to date on the schools’ progress and to vote for their favorite project. Just for voting, fans will be entered in to a weekly drawing for a $50 gas card. At the end of the contest, the team with the most votes will receive a $10,000 scholarship for every student on the team and they’ll get to party with DJ FunkMaster Flex. The 2nd place school will win $7,500 scholarships for each team member and the 3rd place school will win $5,000 scholarships for each team member.
So visit the Dupli-Color® Facebook Page (facebook.com/DupliColor) today and check out what the next generation of automotive enthusiasts are doing. And don’t forget to cast your vote each week to help determine the winning school (and give yourself a chance for some free gas).
