Professionals Realty Group USA (ProsUSA) President Glenn Melton reports on findings from sister-company Australian-based Professionals Real Estate Group’s Annual Conference in Sydney. He confirms strong Australian investor interest in United States real estate, and offers real estate agents and brokers in N. Professionals Real Estate Group’s Annual Conference for its members (i.e. “real estate brokers”) in the East Coast of Australia was held September 18-20 at the Sheraton Darling Harbour. Seventy-six percent of its member population from the East attended, which equates to approx. 130 brokers.

“Real estate brokers in Australia have buyers who want to get connected to our real estate market,” says Melton. “The strength of Australian currency combined with perceptions about trends in the U.S. real estate market, has led to Australian investors’ increased interest in the U.S. What I found most intriguing and perhaps the biggest opportunity for real estate professionals in the U.S., though, is a segment of business that is growing here, yet is already prominent in Australia – property management.”

Melton comments that property management as part of a real estate agent or broker’s business portfolio is commonplace in Australia because it provides “long-term, tangible and enduring” income value and is a source of customers for future property purchases.

“With the uptick in U.S. rental demand as a result of foreclosures, short sales and increased renters-by-choice, property management is a growing, viable and stable business that real estate professionals may want to consider adding to their service offerings,” Melton comments.

At the conference, topics ranged from technology to recruiting to property management, and speakers included Paul De Gelder, a military diver who survived a shark attack, Sharon Corrs, a breast cancer survivor who climbed Mt. Everest, and Jeff Turner of Zeek Interactive and RealEstateShows.com, who is both Inman News’ “100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders: 2010” and a Board of Director for ProsUSA. Professionals Real Estate Group held a breast cancer awareness fundraising event on a boat which took passengers along the famous Sydney Opera House.
