Certrec, a leading regulatory licensing and compliance solutions provider, is pleased to announce that noted performance improvement expert, Guy Bruner has joined Certrec as the Office of Performance Improvement Director.
Responsible for leading Certrec’s 9500X Recovery solution for nuclear generators, Guy Bruner brings deep performance improvement experience across all aspects of effective plant operations, human performance, root cause, training, and safety culture.
“Having a 35 year industry veteran like Guy Bruner join our team as Director of our Office of Performance Improvement is very exciting,” says Ted Enos, CEO of Certrec. “People in the industry recognize that Guy has an extensive track record with direct DOE and INPO experience and extensive knowledge in working with the NRC. Guy’s handled more than 100 plant evaluations and accreditation team visits of utility operations and technical training programs,” notes Enos, “at plants as diverse as Fermi, Waterford, San Onofre, Wolf Creek, and Monticello. We’re excited he’s agreed to lead our new Office of Performance Improvement.”
“Certrec’s Office of Performance Improvement offers 9500X Recovery guidance and mentoring,” says Mr. Bruner. “In addition to identifying and fixing problems correctly, generating plants with yellow and red findings need help forming an effective regulatory strategy, communications plan, safety culture program and restoring compliance,” notes Guy. “It’s hard to find and assemble this type of specific expertise, especially under duress. I’m confident that our expert team of battle-hardened industry professionals can quickly and effectively guide remediation teams through the rough waters of 9500X recovery.”
Prior to joining Certrec, Mr. Bruner supervised startup, normal, outage refueling, and plant upset operations for a number of generation facilities. Having developed nuclear operating, emergency, abnormal, and surveillance procedures, he effectively managed the completion of one of the most technically complex, expensive, and lengthy nuclear plant outages in a generating plant’s history. Plant reliability measurably increased under his guidance.
“By providing a realistic and objective determination of the current 9500X state and effective performance improvement solutions, Certrec’s Office of Performance Improvement can help Chief Nuclear Officers better address human performance issues, manage the recovery and compliance process to their advantage, and achieve durable and sustained improvement,” notes Ted Enos.
