I would like to congratulate Greg for earning this monumental achievement and being rightfully recognized by his peers. I have no doubt that his leadership capabilities and attention to detail will benefit the entire precast concrete industry.”
Amesbury, MA (PRWEB) October 27, 2011
Shea Concrete, one of the largest precast concrete manufacturers in New England, is pleased to announce that Greg Stratis, the manager of the Amesbury location, has recently been named to the Board of Directors for the National Precast Concrete Association. Combining his extensive professional history with the responsibilities that are entailed in his new post, Stratis will be presented with unique educational, networking, and leadership opportunities in the precast concrete industry.
“I am extremely honored to be appointed to the Board of Directors,” remarked Stratis. “The strategic and ethical goals that the NPCA as an organization embodies are very much aligned with that of Shea Concrete and am excited to bring my experience, insight and fresh perspective to the organization.”
Throughout his 18 year career, Greg Stratis has maintained the mantra of Shea Concrete to its fullest extent: to continually focus on quality, service, and customer-centered values. During his tenure with the company, Stratis has grown in stature and achievement; most notably playing an active role in the expansion of the company through a series of acquisitions. Beginning in September of 1999 with the purchase of New England Precast, to the most recent absorption of Utility Precast in December 2009, Shea Concrete has grown to 3 locations in Massachusetts and can offer a diverse product catalog. In addition to his responsibilities at Shea Concrete, Stratis has served as President of the local Northeast Precast Concrete Association (NEPCA) for the past 6 years, with a prior 3 year run on its Board of Directors. He has also worked in conjunction with the NPCA Stormwater Committee and in the last two years has acted as Chair for the group.
“None of this would have been possible without the help from many people,” stated Stratis. “There are so many that I would like to thank, but first and foremost is my wife, Brenda (who also works at the company). She has always been understanding when I get home late or when I need to put in extra time on the weekends. Her support has carried me through some tough days.” He added, “I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to the opportunity that Owner Ed Shea provided me long ago and to General Manager Bob Flores, for all his guidance. I am very proud to be a part of the Shea family. Working with people who take pride in their daily duties makes success possible.”
Since its foundation in 1965, the NPCA has been dedicated in the development and expansion of using quality precast concrete for a variety of applications. It supplies pertinent information and avenues of networking to its more than 1,100 members by offering technical, production, and management forums. Upon hearing the announcement, Ed Shea noted, “I would like to congratulate Greg for earning this monumental achievement and being rightfully recognized by his peers. I have no doubt that his leadership capabilities and attention to detail will benefit the entire precast concrete industry.”
