Thirteen entrants in this virtual Halloween costume contest for dogs and cats will win prizes, a fitting number for a Halloween contest. Pets Adviser will choose a Grand Prize winner, a Best Dog Photo contest winner, a Best Cat Photo contest winner and 10 Honorable Mentions.

The winners of the Halloween pets contest will receive some amazing prizes, including cash, treats, toys and the Grand Prizeā€š a $500 donation, courtesy of DogTime Media, to the registered nonprofit animal shelter or rescue of the winner's choice.

According to Pets Adviser editor Dave Baker, "There's just something about seeing a wiener dog in a hot dog costume, or a chihuahua in a taco costume... Or any number of more creative ideas for dogs or cats. You just can't help but smile. That's why Pets Adviser loves Halloween so much. This unique contest is a chance to have some fun and also contribute to a great cause."

Baker adds: "There's still plenty of time for people to get their entries in. Entries will be accepeted until midnight the day after Halloween. Also, remember that cats -- if you can actually get 'em into costume -- are also included."
