New Bilingual memoir reveals how the author coped with ADHD at a time when nobody knew what it was

Are guardian angels real and do they really protect people? Author Victor M. Calderon has been through so many mishaps, he often thinks it’s a miracle he is still alive. He attributes his survival to his guardian angel. But these unseen heavenly guardians are but a small part of his eventful life. Readers can follow his fascinating life as it unfolds in a bilingual autobiography, The Wager Nobody Cared To Win: My Life With ADHD.

In his memoir, the author shares how he was just an average person who grew up with a serious attention-and-concentration problem at a time when nobody knew what that was. Today, this quizzical problem is known as Attitude Deficit Hyperactive Disorder or ADHD. In his dreams, he wanted to be a baseball player, pilot, soldier, and a hero. Despite his ADHD, he was able to accomplish so much more than what he had pictured in his wildest dreams. The armies of the United States and South Vietnam commended him repeatedly. However, national corporate giants in the United States, involved in illegal imports, wished he never existed.

Written in both English and Spanish, The Wager Nobody Cared To Win: My Life With ADHD gives readers a glimpse into the Calderon’s life and how he coped with ADHD at a time when people didn’t know what to make of it. His is a story of triumph, of winning against the odds and living life to the fullest no matter what challenge came his way. As he recounts his memories, he reveals how faith played an important role in his life and how he always believed that a guardian angel is watching over him.
