FT Pipeline Systems announces it now stocks roll grooved pipes

FT Pipeline Systems, pipe suppliers to the UK construction industry, has announced that it now stocks and provides roll grooved pipes.

Roll grooved pipes come with grooves directly rolled into the pipe ends. The pipes are created through the use of a new technique using hydraulically controlled sets of rollers. These consist of two automatic groove rolling systems which clamp the pipe and turn it, thereby producing the grooves.

Roll grooved pipes provide an advantage over traditional piping. Roll grooved tubes are more economical than weld-on grooved sockets because the process is done in one action, rather than having to conduct the different processes separately. These pipes are also of use in the transportation of water, air or solid matter through rugged and rough conditions - such as on construction sites - where a pipe system must be constructed in a relatively short time frame, and where specialist tools may not be available.

These pipes are also advantageous for the construction of sprinkler systems, ducts for air and cooling, and for mining and civil engineering – to name a few examples – thanks to the easy nature in which a pipeline can be constructed.
