LabX Media Group, parent company to LabX.com, Lab Manager Magazine, and LabWrench.com, announced today that it has finalized the acquisition of print and digital publication for The Scientist magazine from Sciencenow Inc., a member of The Science Navigation Group.
LabX Media Group welcomes the addition of The Scientist to their print and digital publishing portfolio. The acquisition of The Scientist and the-scientist.com will complement LabX Media Group's existing media products and enable them to extend their reach to a respected audience of life science professionals.
The Scientist magazine has been the leading source of information for science professionals globally since its founding 25 years ago by Eugene Garfield as a trade tabloid, and LabX Media Group looks to continue this trend. LabX Media Group President Bob Kafato is emphatic, "The Scientist will continue on the great editorial pathway it exhibits now. We will seek ways to deliver even more value to our readers for their time spent interacting with the magazine. After acquiring Lab Manager Magazine in 2008, we were able to triple its size in only three years, despite a declining market. We plan to apply the knowledge gained from that experience as we move forward with publishing The Scientist. Our company is committed to keeping The Scientist intriguing and interesting to our 56,000 print subscribers, more than 400,000 e-mail newsletter subscribers, and 310,000 monthly visitors.
