Terri Maxwell, Ph.D., APRN, has been appointed Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Weatherbee Resources, Inc., a highly regarded provider of compliance-related products and consulting services for the hospice industry. Dr. Maxwell will serve in the same capacity for the Hospice Education Network, Inc, (HEN) a leading provider of online end-of-life care education that is operated by Weatherbee Resources and used by thousands of professionals across the country.
Dr. Maxwell will be responsible for implementing a comprehensive strategic plan that is designed to ensure that Weatherbee and HEN remain at the forefront in the development of innovative solutions, products, and services that meet the evolving needs of the hospice and palliative care communities. “The hospice industry is facing extraordinary challenges,” states Joy Barry, co-owner of Weatherbee and HEN. “Increased regulatory scrutiny, payment reform, and the aging of the hospice workforce are only a few of these challenges. Dr. Maxwell has over thirty years of healthcare experience and is a well-respected researcher and author or co-author of many publications. She was a Project on Death in America faculty scholar and led a system-wide quality assessment and performance improvement project to measure and improve end-of-life care at the Center for Palliative Care at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. More recently, Terri was the VP of Clinical Initiatives at excelleRx Inc. where she was responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of clinical products and services for Hospice Pharmacia, a national hospice pharmacy. "The depth of Terri’s clinical knowledge, her commitment to improving end-of life care and her proven leadership and teaching skills will be wonderful assets for both Weatherbee and HEN,” states Barry. “I have long respected Weatherbee Resources and HEN for their commitment to improving the quality of hospice care,” said Maxwell. “I am thrilled to be joining the Weatherbee and HEN team and look forward to contributing to the companies’ continued success and ultimately to help improve quality of care at the end of life.”
