Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 31, 2011
On November 4 and 5, Bering’s in Houston, TX will be epicenter for a landmark occasion orchestrated by the internationally acclaimed Herend Porcelain Manufactory of Hungary. As one of only twelve of Herend’s top retail dealers nationwide hand-picked to host an artist event, the store will feature a spellbinding medley of the finest in hand painted porcelain artistry and a Herend artist demonstrating painting techniques and signing purchases.
Herend earned lasting fame worldwide for its exquisite porcelain soon after its founding in 1826. Today Herend is the largest European manufactory of handcrafted, hand painted porcelain and remains the brand of choice of royalty, leaders of nations and celebrities from all walks of life.
In conjunction with the artist event, Herend salutes 2011 as the 160th anniversary of one of its most famous and sought-after patterns of all time, Queen Victoria. In honor of the occasion Herend created a new twist on the pattern this year for the most recently celebrated royal couple, Prince William and his bride Kate Middleton. On the eve of their wedding Hungary presented 45 pieces of the new Royal Garden pattern to the royal couple’s official representative, Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London Sir David William Brewer, who said Prince William holds Herend in high regard and appreciates such a uniquely personal gift. His parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana owned Herend dinnerware in the Rothschild Bird and Blue Garland patterns, and a family tradition was treating Princess Diana to a Herend figurine in her stocking each Christmas.
Both Queen Victoria and Royal Garden will be available at the event, along with a stunning array of other magnificent designs, special show colors and captivating shapes rarely seen in the U.S. With something to entice Herend enthusiasts of every genre, the expansive assortment of show goods will be accompanied by other exceptional Herend pieces, such as art sculptures from Herend’s acclaimed limited-edition Reserve Collection.
A highlight of the show will be painting demonstrations by accomplished Herend artist Hajnalka Szakos, who has represented Herend at prestigious events around the world. Some of her painting specialties are Herend’s Poisson fish pattern, the Fish scale pattern and holiday pattern Noel. She also excels at more unique assignments, such as hand painting on dresses. In fact, she recently adorned a friend’s wedding gown.
Herend door prizes and gifts with minimum purchase will be awarded during the event.
