“Too often in western medicine, the patient is overwhelmed, and forgets he/she has great capacity within to help their body heal and to support their medical care. The Qigong that I teach awakens this capacity to actively lead your life into health."

An unwanted medical diagnosis or the limiting effects of aging can cause isolation and paralyzing fear and confusion. A daily practice of Qigong has helped millions lead their life to thrive through stress, aging and illness. The Chi Center retreats offer expert concentrated daily practice with the guidance of Qigong Master Mingtong Gu to cultivate calm, clarity and healthy purpose. The November retreats are “Healing Intensive Retreats”, the most concentrated programs offered by The Chi Center for prevention and wellness recovery.

Studies show that it takes weeks to learn and retrain the brain and body into a new lifestyle habit. Chi Center retreats range from 5-14 days, to give the best concentrated time, place and focus to start a new future, by learning and deepening a Wisdom Healing Qigong practice. The Chi Center’s 100 Day Qigong program continues with a home practice program, weekly web sessions and a strong support community.

Master Gu studied directly with the founder of Wisdom Healing Qigong in China, which is the Qigong specialty that combines an ancient lineage of Qigong with modern medicine to focus precisely on prevention and/or recovery of medical conditions from disease, illness and aging. “Too often in western medicine, the patient is overwhelmed, and forgets he/she has great capacity within to help their body heal and to support their medical care. The Qigong that I teach awakens this capacity to actively lead your life into health." Mingtong Gu added "My students learn the skills and discipline to support your aging, your doctors and your dreams.”

Each day includes Qigong practice, teachings and meditations and healthy, wholesome meals. The movements and meditations are so gentle the practice can be done sitting, standing or lying down, so it is well-suited to many health conditions. “When I am in retreat led by Mingtong Gu, everyday is more helpful to my learning and how I feel. He is a gifted teacher in translating these teachings into English for the western world.” said retreat student Denise Minter. Located just 25 minutes north of San Francisco, the 194 acre EarthRise at IONS Retreat Center is situated on a hilltop with sunrise and sunset views, laced with trails, bridges and benches.
