DoubleDutch announced that leading IT market research and advisory firm International Data Corporation (IDC) selected the company as an “Innovative Application Software Company Under $100M to Watch.” DoubleDutch is called out as one of the leading innovators in the Social Business Solutions Category in IDC’s Innovative Application Software Companies Under $100 Million to Watch, 2011 (IDC #230938), for its delivery of DoubleDutch HYVE, a cloud-based suite of horizontal geo-social productivity applications that enables enterprise mobile employees to collaborate and communicate within a social framework of ongoing tasks and projects.

IDC cited three key drivers making an impact on the IT marketplace. The drivers included Commerce 2.0, Social Business Solutions, and Socialytics. The Innovative Application Software Companies Under $100M to Watch list included companies that are successfully meeting the needs of enterprises in each prediction category. DoubleDutch was recognized in the social business solutions category for DoubleDutch HYVE.

“The social Web, new commerce models that incorporate mobile and social technologies, socialytics and an increased use of mobile in the enterprise are all impacting businesses and the enterprise application software needed to help drive business change. Contributing to much-needed innovation in enterprise software is a group of small companies with the vision and technology to help businesses deal more effectively with the new business environment,” said Michael Fauscette, Group Vice President, Software Business Solutions at IDC.

DoubleDutch’s mobile enterprise application suite, HYVE, uses social and geo-enabled technologies to improve worker productivity across every line of business. By enabling every team-member, customer and stakeholder to collaborate, connect and communicate through structured status updates, enterprises can share knowledge, maximize performance and measure productivity.

“Our company takes great pride in being recognized as a leading provider of mobile, social enterprise applications to improve collaboration to employee performance and productivity,” said Lawrence Coburn, Founder and CEO of DoubleDutch. “It is a huge honor and it signals that the work we are doing to increase transparency and productivity is catching on. We are transforming the modern, mobile workplace.”

IDC’s “Innovative Companies Under $100M to Watch” reports are a qualitative evaluation of a set of vendors within a specific market; they are not a stack ranking. Nor do they represent an exhaustive evaluation of all companies in a segment or a comparative ranking of the companies in the report. IDC solicited entries from vendors of less than $100 million that exemplify specific key trends (selected by analysts) that are driving change in a specific software market. Vendors then submitted case studies that exemplified one of the trends used as the basis for the award. These case studies were evaluated individually and independently by related market analysts across several pre-determined criteria. The teams then met to review the scores. The case studies submitted for review had to demonstrate that the technology was available, able to be implemented and provided real-world benefits to the customer.
