Author Chester M. Mckeen, Jr. fuels children’s imagination as he brings a mythical creature to life through rhyming lines and stanzas

Marking a return to the realm of folklore and mythical creatures, author Chester M. McKeen, Jr. and illustrator Frank Simmonds, IV collaborate to present Who?, a vividly illustrated picture book that gives parents, grandparents, baby sitters and those who love children an interesting way for them to spend time with a child, or children, giving them the attention all children crave.

“Three generations, children, grand children and great grand children, have demonstrated that when trusted adults take the time to show a child that they think he, or she, is very worthy, the platform for wholesome self-esteem is firmly established,” McKeen shares. “Hopefully, this book will be helpful in fulfilling such a purpose.”

Written in rhyme and rhythm, Who? is a story of a man’s recollection about one magical encounter during his childhood – the night he met a mythical character in Western folklore who brings good dreams by sprinkling magical sand onto children’s eyes while they sleep at night. Young readers’ imagination will be stirred as they follow an extraordinary encounter through the pages of this book.

This book will be featured at the New York Library Association Book Exhibit in Saratoga Springs, NY, on November 2 to 5, 2011.
