President Neal King of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP) will travel to Doha, Qatar this month in his leadership role as Secretary General of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) to participate in the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE).

WISE is an international forum for creative thinking, debate, and purposeful action in pursuit of innovative solutions to today’s educational challenges. WISE is based on the practical awareness that the challenges in education are no longer bound by countries’ political boundaries and, therefore, its mandate is international. WISE recognizes that the challenges facing the world community have never been greater - that there is a need for innovative solutions not achieved by traditional approaches alone. WISE asserts that the desire to innovate is, in fact, an innate human need to shape and improve our environment.

Dr. King and a representative of Microsoft Inc. will announce at the WISE Conference a dynamic new partnership that will enable educators worldwide to collectively access advanced technology for teaching, research and administration. Dr. King explains, “This partnership among WISE, IAUP and Microsoft is essential to the future of higher education and its collective ability to meet the changing needs of students and the world in which they live.”

This year’s WISE Conference will focus on some of the most pressing issues facing educators worldwide today. Some of the topics to be discussed at the conference include:

  •     Changing Societies, Changing Education
  •     Education, Innovation, Development
  •     New Modes for Innovation
  •     Rethinking Innovation in Education
  •     Achieving Effective Reform

President Neal King will bring his unique perspective to the proceedings as the CEO of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP), a private, non-sectarian graduate school in the United States, founded in 1975 as a groundbreaking center of integrative, whole-person learning and training. ITP is a leader in transpersonal research and education of therapists, clinicians, spiritual guides, wellness caregivers, and consultants who apply transpersonal principles and values to a variety of fields. ITP’s stimulating and transformative educational paradigm, valuing the mind, body, spirit connection, attracts students from all over the world to both residential and online distance-learning programs.
