Advances in distance learning, like live streaming, are making education equally accessible to all, regardless of geographical location or economic situation.

The 3rd Annual Pre-Hospital Care Neuro Symposium will take place at the University of Memphis’ FedEx Institute of Technology on Nov. 17 and will be live-streamed to medics nationwide.
“This will be the first ever EMS conference live-streamed in its entirety to EMS providers across the country," says Richard Belle, Continuing Education Manager for Acadian Companies and the National EMS Academy. "We are excited to be involved in providing quality educational opportunities to medics across the United States.”
The National EMS Academy, a division of the Acadian Companies, will make the symposium available to registered viewers via its online educational system, Online NEMSA. Participants will earn continuing education credit.
The symposium will focus on the latest developments in pre-hospital neurological emergency care. Topics will include:
- Emergency management of stroke
- Spinal injury
- Post cardiac arrest management of pediatric patients
The National EMS Academy and Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare are working to make quality continuing education accessible to all EMS providers.
“Travel costs and limited availability of such events in many parts of the United States often make it difficult for EMS providers to receive necessary continuing education, but advances in distance learning, like live streaming, are making education equally accessible to all, regardless of geographical location or economic situation,” Belle says.
