Stanford Investment Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that Helen Dietz, President and CEO, was a guest panelist for the 2011 IN Adviser Solutions Adviser Compensation & Staffing Study Workshop in San Francisco, CA on October 18, 2011. Panelists were selected from top human capital firms based on the requirement of meeting nine of eleven best practice criteria. Over 600 firms were included in the 2011 study. Kelli Cruz, Director of Research & Consulting, IN Adviser Solutions moderated the three member panel and ensuing question and answer session.

The study defines human capital philosophy by stating that at its heart, an advisory firm is a “people business” in which the value delivered is almost entirely driven by its people.(1) This year the study developed a new set of criteria for “top performers” based on a range of successful strategies for managing, developing and retaining talent.(2)

Dietz reflects, “In today’s complex financial and investment environment, individuals are responsible for their own financial security. Demands on financial decision making are more complex and critical to our clients’ financial lives. As the industry matures and clients become increasingly more sophisticated, building out a professional staff to service their needs is paramount.” Providing the highest level of competency and advice means requiring employees to advance their education and credentials. Dietz says, “The best thing I can do for my employees is make them attractive to my competitor. It’s not about filling a position, it’s about having the right skillset and talent while constantly adapting and evolving.”
