This application, also contained within the full Sōsh™ app, has been so popular and garnered so much praise that it is now also offered as a stand-alone app. The Shredder is an iOS application available for Apple iPod Touch, iPad, and iPhone.

The Shredder is a fun and interactive way to reduce negative thinking, stress and anxiety. Developed by two psychologists, The app allows individuals to type in an unpleasant thought, feeling, or situation and drag it into the virtual shredder to hear and see it destroyed. There’s no need to take things out on others anymore! Simply shred it and forget it. Lots of fun for kids, teens, AND adults!

The Shredder was recently featured on a PBS television special which included an interview with a middle school student who has utilizes the shredder to eliminate his daily stress. He described how the shredder helps him maintain his composure when he feels stressed: "My teacher encourages me to use The Shredder when I am mad about a bad grade."

The youth's mother echoed his sentiment, stating, "He doesn't like to listen to me when he is angry or overwhelmed, but he can calm himself by using The Shredder."

The Sōsh™ app to improve social skills is available in the iTunes App Store. Also available is Sōsh™ Lite, a free version which allows anyone to try the full version of the Sōsh app for 7 days from the date of download before the app converts to a Lite version with limited features and Voice Meter--an app to help monitor and control speech volume.

About The Developers:
Dr. Mark Bowers is a Pediatric Psychologist in private practice in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He specializes in neurodevelopmental diagnoses (i.e., Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, and Learning Difficulties), and he is an expert in social skills. Dr. Bowers has contributed to articles in WebMD magazine, Scholastic, and Parenting: The Early Years. In addition to developing the Sōsh mobile app, he is the author of the book Sōsh: Improving Social Skills with Children and Adolescents.

Dr. Kelly Bowers is a Counseling Psychologist and Gallup consultant. She most recently authored chapters in the book, Positive Psychology in Practice and the 4-Volume series Positive Psychology Perspectives on the subject of making the most of human strengths. She was named by the Gallup Organization as a Positive Psychology Fellow for her continued research surrounding positive psychology concepts.
