FoxFury Lighting Solutions announces the release of the world’s first portable, dual function, LED forensic light sources. These forensic Nomad Area-Spot lights are available in UV, Blue or Green LEDs and function as a flood light or forensic spotlight. Multiple investigators can now examine a scene using a single light source. These cordless and rechargeable light sources are valuable in the forensic lab, at remote or large crime scenes and in forensic photography.
The Nomad was specifically designed for first responders and forensic personnel to travel to obscure and poorly lit areas. Its smart design offers both area and flood light options. With built-in legs and a head that can telescope up to 8 ft tall, the Nomad functions as a powerful 8 degree spotlight with the diffuser lens detached or a 120 degree scene light with the lens attached. Measuring 33 inches when closed and weighing only 17 pounds, its compact and lightweight design makes it easy to carry.
The Nomad Blue (470 nm) and UV (395 nm) models are used in crime scene searches to help locate bodily fluids and other trace evidence. The Nomad Green (532 nm) is used to find latent prints. These cordless and self-contained lights reduce cross contamination at a scene. Yellow or orange goggles along with little ambient light are needed to visualize evidence with the Nomad.
The forensic Nomads are accurate to 3 nm and have a recommended operational distance of 40 ft (12 m) making it an incredibly powerful forensic light source. The Nomad runs on a rechargeable lithium ion battery system. Battery life is 2.5 to 9 hours depending on the light intensity chosen. A white light model is also available.
