UW-Madison student, Eric Dahl, has quickly climbed the ladder of Collegiate and Professional Competitive Eating rankings while focusing on Computer Engineering studies and physical fitness.

University of Wisconsin - Madison is home to Eric “Silo” Dahl – the Nation’s #1 Ranked Collegiate Competitive Eater as endorsed by The National Collegiate Competitive Eating Association ( ). Eric is also the #1 Ranked Professional Competitive Eater through All Pro Eating Promotions ( ) where he is the current National Pulled Pork Eating Champion and the World Hands-Free Pumpkin Pie Eating Champion. He gives as much attention into Competitive Eating as he does his college degree - When he’s not eating 6 pounds of burritos in 3 minutes and 25 seconds or devouring almost 10 pounds of a combined hamburger and fries in an astonishing 35 minutes, he’s busy concentrating on Circuit Analysis, Electrodynamics, Asian American History Movement and Dislocation and Circuits Lab. He recently graduated Rochester Community and Technical College (MN) with a 3.79 GPA and High Honors.

Eric also places a significant emphasis on his overall health and physical well-being. After one look at the 6’3” 225 pound “Silo” it is clear that his strict training and dietary routine has allowed him to stay in great physical shape. When asked what attracted him to Competitive Eating, Dahl stated, “I simply love the competitive aspect of it. It is you against other eaters, but even more so, it is you against the food. It is a very individual sport and being a former high school wrestler I can relate very well – Competitive Eating takes a lot more skill and mental toughness than you would think. An Eater’s success is directly related to your individual performance and effort. Competitive Eating, just like my success in school and in the weight room, has allowed me to understand that my achievements are dependent on my effort.”

Eric “Silo” Dahl recently established a new World Hands-Free Pumpkin Pie Eating Record on October 23rd in Clarence, New York after eating 27 slices of Pumpkin Pie in eight minutes without using his hands at an All Pro Eating sanctioned Competitive Eating event. Todd “The Hungry Genius” Greenwald, Commissioner of The NCCEA and Chairman of All Pro Eating Promotions commented, “Eric Dahl is without a doubt one of the most amazing Competitive Eaters in America! He breaks the mold and stigma that the average person thinks of when they hear the term ‘Competitive Eater’. As the #1 Ranked Collegiate and Professional Competitive Eater in our organizations, he has the chance to establish a Competitive Eating legacy that I do not think will soon be forgotten!”

Eric Dahl has created his own unique form of promotion of his involvement in the sport of Competitive Eating. The Eric “Silo” Dahl Facebook page has over 270 Fans that follow his activities in Competitive Eating events, contests and challenges. He also provides exclusive and creative videos that document his Competitive Eating “life” on his YouTube channel ( ) where he currently has over 35,000 total views!
