Specialty grocery retailer integrates in-aisle handheld operations to improve shelf-edge printing process.

AccessVia announces The Fresh Market, Inc. has selected and deployed the AccessVia Publishing Platform for shelf-edge label printing. Stuart Williams, Vice President of The Fresh Market, says the AccessVia team was “easy to work with, their communication was concise and timely, and the project was completed on-time and on-budget.”

The AccessVia Publishing Platform is designed to manage all retail shelf-edge publishing needs. Its sophisticated architecture and retail-focused tool kit ensure both an efficient and effective system for delivering shelf-edge messaging. The Publishing Platform is a singular integrated system designed to be managed centrally with minimal support following implementation—guaranteeing both stability and control of your operations. AccessVia technologies lead the industry for operating streamlined, accurate, and scalable shelf-edge publishing systems.

The Fresh Market chose to extend the base Publishing Platform with their existing handheld applications using the AccessVia In-Aisle Printing Extension. Daily in-store price changes managed by Retalix software are directly printed on labels delivering a streamlined process and always-accurate shelf-edge labels. The Fresh Market runs the AccessVia application on a Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server, and Fresh Market is using printers from Dell Inc.

As to what Fresh Market has gained with the AccessVia solution, Williams names the “reduction of hardware and software at the store level through centralized printing, and the real time delivery of label and template changes from one, central source” as the key benefits, adding also “the localized printing environment that provides more granular control.”

“We now have the ability to expand our print offerings to include store signage as well as shelf labels, and a more robust application that allows for customization of the printing experience at store level,” continues Williams.
The AccessVia Publishing Platform gives retailers control over all aspects of designing, publishing, and managing shelf-edge product merchandising and more. The AccessVia Publishing Platform seamlessly delivers print and digital promotions to stores for immediate availability or to central print service providers for high-speed production. To measure the success of promotions and understand store activity, the Platform also delivers analysis and reports of store activity and provides intelligence on how promotions impact sales.
