Because Children Are Our Future...

Fitness for Kids is revolutionary in design, but simple in execution.

Six-Time “Mr. World Fitness,” Franco Carlotto, founder of Fitness for Kids, launches the health and fitness program to teach children and parents how to live healthy. The “Kick-off Event” will be held at Tarzana Elementary School with Laila Ali and Curtis Conway acting as Program Ambassadors. The program Fitness for Kids has been a big hit in Switzerland for the past 5 years, and comes to the United States just as the obesity rate in American children and adults is hitting an all-time high. One of every three American children is obese. The aim of the initiative is to motivate American kids to embrace respectful life attitudes, track daily activity, and incorporate healthy nutrition into their daily lives. The Tarzana Elementary event will kick-start a nationwide roll-out of the program.

Headlining the Fitness for Kids event, as Ambassadors, are Women’s Boxing Champion & daughter of boxing great Muhammad Ali, Laila Ali, and former USC Trojan & NFL Star Curtis Conway. The impressive group of celebrity ambassadors, who all boast healthy and active resumes, will offer guidance through interviews, personal stories, and by exercising and eating a healthy snack with the kids. Overall there are over 80 Ambassadors internationally, ranging from Olympic winners, actors, politicians, and American sports icons.

“This program is a unique way for kids, parents and teachers to sync up to accomplish one goal – get kids to live healthier lives from an early age on with the simple principals of Attitude, Activity, and Nutrition,” said Founder of Fitness for Kids, Franco Carlotto, “Fitness for Kids is revolutionary in design, but simple in execution.”

During the program, certified Fitness for Kids instructors will teach kids ages 5 to 12 how to keep a daily fitness journal. Kids and teachers will log minutes of physical activity, as well as how many fruits and vegetables and glasses of water they consume. Instructors will also perform a personalized Fitness-Check for each child to evaluate and monitor their fitness levels during the weeks the program is active at the schools. After 6 to 8 weeks, the Fitness for Kids Team will return for “The Check-Up Event” to evaluate the learned topics, test them and reward all children with a healthy snack. Upon completion of the events, participants will also earn a special reward: A Fitness for Kids diploma and T-Shirt. The long-term goal of the program is organizational fitness as a daily part of life, with kids taking on leadership roles as future Ambassadors similar to the celebrities.

In Switzerland, the Fitness for Kids initiative has inspired kids to lead healthier lives since 2006 and is approved by the Swiss Government. The organization’s vision is to visit elementary schools all over the U.S. to educate and motivate young children while uniting with parents, government, corporations, and the media to create a healthier future for all American children. Fitness for Kids is a 501c Non-Profit Organization based in Los Angeles.
