New Dixon-Pierson Loyalty Program Earns Customers Rewards to Stay Warm

First Area Rewards Points Program for Heating Oil & Equipment


We’re the first ones in the area offering this benefit!

Dixon Energy of Mountain Lakes, NJ and JW Pierson Co., of East Orange, NJ are sister companies with a shared philosophy: Good Customers Deserve Rewards. To make that more than just a concept, they jointly unveiled a new Loyalty Program where customers earn redeemable points for purchases.

“We are so appreciative of our customers, and we understand that home heating is a challenge for everyone these days. We value their business -- their loyalty to us -- and we want to let them know in a very real way. And as far as we know, we’re the first ones in the area offering this benefit! ” says Sally Pierson, Vice President of Dixon Energy.

Rewards points are earned for purchases of heating oil, heating propane, equipment purchases such as oil burners, and service calls. Points accumulate, so customers can bank them against future needs such as more heating fuel, equipment and installations, or the points may even be donated to charity! The program is available to automatic delivery customers in good standing at both companies.

Sally and her sister Jennifer Pierson run Dixon Energy. Their father, Jim Pierson, owns and runs JW Pierson Company, about 30 miles away. The two home energy companies share not only family ties, but also a common mission: to take excellent care of customers the way only a small, focused, local company can. Both companies are over 100 years old and each has thrived on the foundation of excellent customer service. Jim Pierson, who recently celebrated his 84th birthday and still comes to work every day, says, “I have seen a lot of changes and a lot of challenges in our industry over the years, but one thing is always true: if you deliver on your promises, and take care of your customers like they were your own family, a business can survive almost anything. We are very excited about the Loyalty Program because it is a way for us to say ‘thank you.’ ”

In conjunction with the new Loyalty Program, Dixon and Pierson also unveiled a new customer log-in portal on their websites. At and at regular customers can now access their usage history, their heating oil purchases, and especially their accumulated Rewards Points! “People are so used to tracking their purchases online in many other areas,” said Sally, “we wanted to offer this service to our customers. It is very empowering to have all your information available on the screen. We have already seen many people sign up to use the portal. I expect we will get close to 100% of our customers using it within a year.”
