The Foundation to Illuminate America’s Heroes announces an appeal for support of a great cause—finding and illuminating the stories of true American heroes, past and present. David C. Jamison, former key deputy to Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Jack Anderson and founder and director of the Foundation, a 501(C)3 non-profit public foundation, announced today "The Foundation is launching today a campaign actively seeking the profound help and support of the motion picture industry and wealthy patriotic donors to help the Foundation find and illuminate the stories of true American Heroes through feature films, television programs, books and talk shows.”
Jamison stated, "The Foundation needs actors, screenplay writers, directors, producers, agents, publicists and motion picture companies to actively adopt this great cause as their own and to help the Foundation to truly illuminate the stories of America's heroes from all walks of life both past and present. We are asking all of these members of the motion picture community to contact the Foundation, join our National Advisory Board and to advise us on how to best illuminate the stories of America's heroes."
"The Foundation will shortly launch the first ever social media campaign to seek the stories of America's heroes, both past and present, from the grassroots public. In addition, the Foundation will illuminate the best stories by providing them to the motion picture & television industry as well as book publishers.”
The first heroic story which the Foundation will feature through the launch of its website and social media campaign is the inspirational true life story of legendary Hollywood producer and great American Hero, Merian Cooper. Cooper. who created the original "King Kong Movie" and forty-five other classic films, risked his life to literally repay America's greatest debt. This true life adventure ranks as one of the greatest heroic feats in American history and needs to be fully illuminated to the American public and the world. The Foundation will launch a social media campaign to provide financing for a feature film illuminating this inspirational story of Hollywood's greatest hero. The Foundation has targeted the following film industry talent to join this great project: Mark Wahlberg to play the feature role of Merian Cooper, Randall Wallace (of Braveheart fame) to write the screen play, Peter Jackson, who greatly honored Cooper with a half hour video of Cooper's incredible life entitled "I am Kong" when he produced and directed the most recent remake of King Kong, as director. Matt Damon, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are also targeted for feature roles in the film.
