“Patients no longer understand costs,” says Dr. Paul Vanek, the board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who is spearheading a potentially historical private healthcare reform. “‘Operation Whitecoat’ II takes out third-party insurance hassles.”
What has taken years to develop is now set to launch throughout the country, as it is being primed for the 2012 presidential election. According to Dr. Vanek, the goal of Operation Whitecoat II is to “save money on the cost of administration of Medicare so doctors can minister to patients.” Set out to eliminate “so-called Obamacare” in an allied effort, Operation Whitecoat II is intended to restore consumer-directed health choices.
“Physicians are at a breaking point,” he says, referring to the said burdensome and costly regulations. “There are 163 new bureacracies, an increase in taxes, and uncompensated compliance with massive regulation.”
In order to further bring light to Operation Whitecoat II, Dr. Vanek decided that a trip to Congress was in order. He arrived in Washington D.C. on October 4, 2011, and attended 23 meetings within two days, including a meeting with the Speaker of the House, John Boehnor. Having presented various facets of this reform to the Legislative branch, including the House of Representatives and the Senate, Dr. Vanek proudly admits: “It was very well-received. I am very encouraged by House and Senate members. It is a very exciting opportunity to save money for Medicare.”
While 2005’s Operation Whitecoat I was based on “regulation improvement” and “stabilizing compensation,” Operation Whitecoat II is striving to create a larger impact at a new level. “Whitecoat II will reduce the budget by 9.5 billion dollars, simply be implementing cost-saving technology,” says Dr. Vanek, who welcomes sponsors and like-minded individuals to join in on this reform. Currently, 1,500 doctors from all medical specialties throughout the country are supporting his endeavors.
