“The Ronald McDonald House of Durham is an important organization for James Scott Farrin to support,” said Workers’ Compensation Attorney Hunter Gentel.

Several volunteers from the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin donated, cooked and served a home-cooked meal for approximately 40 residents and staff members of the Ronald McDonald House of Durham on October 5.
In addition to preparing a meal for the Ronald McDonald House of Durham, the volunteers from the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin donated several kitchen utensils that the residents and staff members can use for future meals.
The volunteers served what one resident referred to as a “family meal” to the residents and staff. A delicious pot roast was served with garlic mashed potatoes and a healthy portion of green beans. The group enjoyed bread rolls and gravy, as they quenched their thirst with iced tea and lemonade. To top off the main course, everyone enjoyed an assortment of desserts.
J. Hunter Eddins Gentel, a Workers’ Compensation Attorney at James Scott Farrin, was one of the volunteers who spent time at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham cooking, serving and cleaning up the dinner.
“The Ronald McDonald House of Durham is an important organization for James Scott Farrin to support,” said Workers’ Compensation Attorney Hunter Gentel. “Helping serve our community a warm home cooked meal can add extra comfort to a family away from home and dealing with a sick child.”
Ronald McDonald houses can be found around the world as they offer families a temporary home while their critically ill child is receiving treatment at a local hospital. Since opening in 1980, the Durham location provides a “home away from home” as families are provided meals, private bedrooms, laundry facilities, a computer room, and a community area. Many families also utilize the counseling and support the Ronald McDonald House offers, creating a support network within the home.
This is not the first time that the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin has volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. More than a dozen staff volunteered at the house as they served a festive Mexican Dinner for house on June 29.
