“It is rewarding to now see businesses get up and running with a website service that is simple for today and powerful for the future,”

San Francisco-based startup vFlyer recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of vMarketing, the Company’s flagship online marketing service now in use by more than 50,000 individuals and businesses. Building on this experience, in August, vFlyer launched vSites, a comprehensive online content creation and management service for small businesses that takes on leading website services like Yola, Squarespace, and Intuit.
vSites’ unique capabilities make it easy for small businesses to create and – more importantly – update their content on a consistent basis.
vSites is the only service that integrates listing modules seamlessly into users' websites. vSites enables users to import their vMarketing listings, which include jobs, autos, real estate, rentals, services, and merchandise, automatically and in real time. Users of both services can thus keep the listings on their website fresh without having to update the website manually.
Most website builders require users to enter content in a WYSIWYG editor, forcing them to handle all content formatting and sizing on their own. vSites does offer a WYSIWYG editor, but also provides fill-in-the blank content entry forms that simplify the entry of content such as news articles, services, team pages, and client lists. After entering content, the user can either opt for the default layout for that content type or choose from a number of available layouts.
The vSites framework is centered on the concept of page templates. The use of page templates greatly decreases the time spent on formatting changes and double entry of information, such as contact information, headers, and footers that often appear on multiple pages.
vSites is also the only service that provides granular control over the publishing of content changes. Users can apply dozens of content updates on multiple pages in the Site Editor and then choose to publish all or some of those changes to their live site.
vSites was built with the belief that one size doesn't fit all. It offers website templates for more than 120 different types of businesses. When a user selects their business type in the Site Setup Wizard, vSites generates a site that includes sample text, pictures, and configurations specific to that business type.
vSites is rolling out several updates today based on early feedback from users. These updates add more functionality to the vMarketing listings integration, including more than a dozen improvements to listing and listing detail page layouts as well as better controls over which listings appear on a site.
vSites also introduced a Social Media Toolbar module, which enables users to configure a toolbar that contains clickable icons linked to their profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, blogs, and other sites. This is a valuable addition to the existing social media modules that vSites offers, which simplify the integration of this type of content directly into users' websites.
“Our team has taken its experience in Enterprise Content Management and Publishing systems to build a flexible, comprehensive content management service for small businesses,” said Aaron Sperling, CEO and President of vFlyer Inc. “It is rewarding to now see businesses get up and running with a service that is simple for today and powerful for the future.”
