Our IT strategy is to provide an infrastructure for Baptist Health that supports a model of care that puts the patient at the center and provides comprehensive information to our physicians and employees at the right time and place.
Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) November 03, 2011
MEDSEEK, the industry’s only provider of the optimal 360-degree online health care experience, today announced its engagement with the Health Care Authority for Baptist Health, An Affiliate of UAB Health System (“Baptist Health”) to deliver a fully integrated patient and clinical experience. The project enables Baptist Health, the Montgomery, AL-based health system, to strengthen patient and physician engagement strategies by building patient loyalty and facilitating communication between the health system, physicians and patients.
Baptist’s selection of MEDSEEK’s clinical experience enhances the health system’s strategic physician engagement program, with communication tools and a unified, single view of clinical data that promises to further improve physician relationships. The first phase includes a deployment of the clinical solution and a virtual medical office, critical to Baptist Health’s continued success in a highly competitive healthcare market.
"Our IT strategy,” said Wanda Sims, Baptist Health Chief Information Officer, “is to provide an infrastructure for Baptist Health that supports a model of care that puts the patient at the center and provides comprehensive information to our physicians and employees at the right time and place. We want to make sure that we support the entire community of care and to serve as the conduit to connect our patients to our employees, physicians and our community."
In the second phase of the project, Baptist will implement MEDSEEK’s strategic patient engagement solution, allowing them to electronically communicate with patients from the time they first search the internet to research a health condition or find a physician, during their clinical encounter and throughout future health care-related interactions. Strategic patient engagement and management will benefit the Baptist community and Baptist’s employed and associate physicians by facilitating patient enrollment and acquisition, building loyalty and promoting patient/physician communication.
“We’re proud to be able to work with Baptist,” said Peter Kuhn, MEDSEEK CEO. “Their plans for strategic patient and physician engagement are typical of today’s healthcare organizations that are looking at Meaningful Use as a step towards accountable care and patient health management. Baptist sees the opportunity our solutions afford, which are to lower costs and improve outcomes.”
Baptist’s physician and patient engagement tools will allow the organization to apply for Meaningful Use benefits in 2012.
