Joliet, Illinois (PRWEB) November 02, 2011
Bill Jacobs Joliet is one of the leading Chevy dealerships in the Chicago area and right now, the news for Chevy just keeps getting better. In 2011 Chevy is on pace to have their best annual sales in their history, that is 100 years. To go along with that success, Chevy recently announce that it will be investing in approximately $215 million in the Saginaw, MI Metal Casting Operation for production of future engine block and head casting work on General Motors products.
The news comes at a great time in the economy and for the company. The investment will help create or retain 275 jobs at the metal casting plant, which means a lot of people will be able to keep on working. The governor of Michigan, Rick Snyder, announced the news last week and presented General Motors Global Chief Manufacturing officer Diana Tremblay with a proclamation declaring November 3rd as “Chevy Centennial Day”.
Bill Jacobs Joliet is very excited about the news of Chevy Centennial day, even though we are not located in Michigan. We will be celebrating the day in Joliet though, on November 3 as well. Chevy has had an outstanding year, they are on pace to report their best sales numbers in history and their third quarter sales show that they sold 1.2 million vehicles worldwide. This set an all-time record for global sales.
As Chevy’s 100th Birthday is upon us, remember the roots of the company, the iconic cars, trucks and campaigns. Chevy plans on expanding their iconic brand as they prepare for another century of business and at Bill Jacobs Joliet, they plan to do the same.
