For the first time ever, marketers can apply instant search retargeting with display inventory in a real-time bidding (RTB) environment.

Simpli.fi, a global demand side platform (DSP), today announced the release of instant search retargeting. An enhancement to the Simpli.fi platform, the new offering allows marketers to immediately target searchers the instant they land on a page selected from their search results.
Simpli.fi’s release of instant search retargeting is a major stride in company’s ongoing effort to combine the efficacy of search with the reach and brand impact of online display advertising to create a new medium: keyword-informed display. The new offering is a recency enhancement to Simpli.fi’s simpli.Search product. Search retargeting campaigns typically allow marketers to target users anywhere from within a recency window of one month to one day. However, Simpli.fi’s instant search retargeting feature offers marketers more immediate access to their targets. Now marketers can target searchers the second they land on a page selected from their search results. Initial results indicate the instant search retargeting offering is far more effective than standard search retargeting ads.
“For the first time ever, marketers can apply instant search retargeting with display inventory in a real-time bidding (RTB) environment,” said Frost Prioleau, CEO, Simpli.fi. “This represents considerable opportunity for marketers today. In fact, initial campaigns using our instant search retargeting feature are delivering click through rates 10 times higher than standard search retargeting ads.”
Recency-based search retargeting opens up new dimensions in online advertising. This capability enables marketers to vary bids for ads targeted at users who are searching now vs. those that have searched sometime in the past. In addition to instant retargeting, Simpli.fi has added the ability to target searchers within minutes of their search activity, including five minutes, fifteen minutes, and thirty. The shorter recency windows, combined with Simpli.fi’s ability to separately bid, report, and optimize for each individual keyword targeted in a campaign, provides online marketers with increased opportunity and a new level of control.
“Targeting is a core strategy for iProspect, therefore we’re greatly looking forward to Simpli.fi’s new ‘instant recency’ feature,” said Lora Parker, Director of Digital Media and Strategy at iProspect. “The ability to retarget consumers instantaneously will easily translate into a competitive advantage for our clients. This feature will be particularly valuable to our clients in the retail industry, where the purchase funnel is often times shorter, and the window to reach consumers is narrower.”
Simpli.fi’s massive scale is a key component to their recency-based targeting capabilities. As the only platform that can execute instant search retargeting in an RTB environment, Simpli.fi enables advertisers to achieve the effectiveness of short recency at scale. An RTB environment bidding across all of the supply-side platforms provides marketers with hundreds of billions of impressions and hundreds of millions of unique users, and in turn, larger and more sustainable campaigns.
“Simpli.fi is committed to providing search marketers with an effective, simple, and global online display advertising platform,” said Prioleau. “Instant search retargeting is just one of many initiatives we are rolling out to mirror and extend text-based search.”
