Join us, you can make a difference by giving some comfort to those in need this holiday season. There is a shortage of sock donations to the homeless, your gift will be appreciated.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) November 02, 2011
Sugar Free Sox has kicked off National Diabetes Month with a donation 0f 4800 pairs of diabetic socks to the U.S. homeless through the Soles4Souls charity. Socks are one of the most under donated items to the homeless and always in scarce supply. Approximately over half of the homeless population has diabetes. Soles4Souls has donated millions of pairs of shoes worldwide and also operates Clothes4Souls.
November is National Diabetes Month and Sugar Free Sox is committed to raising awareness to help the U.S. homeless community receive more sock donations. It is estimated that 70% of the homeless diabetics struggle to control their diabetes, often resulting with very poor circulation and swollen feet.
Sugar Free Sox President Gary Meade said, “Join us, you can make a difference by giving some comfort to those in need this holiday season. There is a shortage of sock donations to the homeless, your gift will be appreciated.”
This is the second annual sock donation drive by the Sugar Free Sox and Soles4Souls partnership donating diabetic socks to those in need within the United States.
“Diabetes is a life threatening disease if gone untreated, so we are happy to be partnering with Sugar Free Sox during National Diabetes month to provide homeless individuals with diabetic socks that many wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford,” said Wayne Elsey, Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls.
