The Doe Run Company is pleased to announce that Matthew Wohl has been promoted to vice president of law. As a member of the executive team, Wohl will be responsible for understanding the current legal environment, anticipating longer term trends and advising the executive team on proactive steps to prevent future risk and litigation for the business. He will also oversee all other legal matters, including permitting, the interpretation of regulations and statutes, compliance and internal and external counsel for company operations.
“We are pleased to have Matt step into this position within the company,” said Bruce Neil, Doe Run’s president and chief executive officer. “Planning for the future and proactively managing risks for the business as a whole are not easy tasks. Matt brings a high level of knowledge to the Doe Run team, and we are fortunate to have an internal candidate qualified to take on this tremendous responsibility.”
During his tenure with Doe Run, Wohl has been involved in proposed plans to repurpose the company’s property in Herculaneum into an industrial park, which could support port development. He has also been instrumental in providing legal counsel in connection with Doe Run’s proposed, proprietary new lead production technology, as well as other commercial transactions involving Doe Run. He has more than 14 years of experience in counseling publicly traded and privately held organizations, and has a broad background in corporate governance, contract negotiation and administration, compliance and governmental relations.
