Southern California (PRWEB) November 07, 2011
Since its inception in 2007, Knots of Love has donated 100,524 caps and this month it is proud to announce that it has hit its goal of 100,000 caps donation in 2011. Knots of Love currently has over 1,000 dedicated and passionate members who donate their time and talent by hand making caps through the art of knit and crochet. Knots of Love caps are donated to over 373 cancer treatment centers, infusion centers, hospitals and oncology offices in all 50 States, Canada, Mexico and overseas.
In addition to its 100,000 cap goal, Knots of Love also reached its 5,000 cap goal for VA Cancer centers before its target date of Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2011. The VA Cap Drive program aims to provide caps in hopes of supporting those veterans that are suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses at VA hospitals across the country. This year, Knots of Love added an additional 67 VA Hospitals to its center donation.
"Knots of Love is community of passionate people spread around the country, who come together to warm the hearts and heads of those in need,” said Christine Fabiani, Founder of Knots of Love. “I am so thankful and proud of how many lives we have touched and for reaching these milestones. This is truly wonderful. Veterans undergoing chemo-therapy need our help - we must not forget them. Our heroes put their lives on the line for our country; it is the least we can do to make sure they feel warm and loved while fighting cancer.”
The charity is always looking for more knit/crochet volunteers as well as organizations to donate caps to. The completed caps can be donated to Knots of Love at 2973 Harbor Boulevard #822 in Costa Mesa, California 92626. Once a cap is donated, donors will receive information regarding where their cap was donated. More details about the submission guidelines are available at http://www.knotsoflove.org.
