Palo Alto (PRWEB) November 07, 2011
IntApp, Inc., provider of the most-adopted information barriers software product for law firms, today announced that Norton Rose Group, a leading international legal practice comprising more than 2600 lawyers operating from 39 offices, has won the 2011 Lawtech award in the security and risk management category for deploying IntApp Wall Builder to enhance confidentiality controls and track compliance across the organisation.
The Lawtech Awards provide an independent forum for law firm IT leaders to honor peer innovation and performance in executing technology projects. Each year five firms are recognised in a select set of categories.
"As an international legal practice pursuing a growth strategy, we face rigorous confidentiality requirements driven by factors including client mandates, professional rules, data privacy laws and our internal information security regime," said Brendan McDonagh, Director of Practice Management, Norton Rose. "We invested in IntApp Wall Builder for confidentiality management because of the product’s proven track record, technological capability and significant momentum and adoption in the marketplace. We’ve been particularly pleased with the quality of service and support IntApp provide, as they continue to enhance Wall Builder in response to evolving industry needs."
Wall Builder is a web-based confidentiality management application built on standard Microsoft technology. It enables organisations to centrally control, monitor and report on user access permissions across multiple applications including document management, accounting, portal, CRM, time entry and records management systems. It also automates notifications to individuals subject to specific information barriers and tracks acknowledgments for compliance and reporting purposes.
Law firms must closely manage and track internal access to client information for reasons including rules of professional responsibility regarding conflicts (SRA Rules 3 & 4), client mandates, and regulations such as the EU Market Abuse and Privacy Directives.
Wall Builder is the most-adopted information barriers software product by law firms with 150 or more lawyers. According to an independent survey by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) of its membership, 72% of large firms using commercial software to enforce information barriers use IntApp Wall Builder. Today, law firms use Wall Builder to manage confidentiality controls for over 1.5 billion documents globally.
"While implementing Wall Builder and integrating it with our Autonomy iManage document management and Aderant practice management systems was a significant undertaking, the project benefited tremendously from IntApp's rich experience managing complex implementations at firms of similar size and global scale," said Lionel Bird, Senior Manager of Business Operations, Norton Rose Group. "A key factor in our success was the involvement of a diverse set of stakeholders including representatives from our IT, applied technology, compliance, finance and business management teams. We're delighted that the effort of our team has been recognised with this prestigious award."
"Norton Rose have taken a leadership role in responding to the demanding and growing confidentiality challenges facing the legal industry," said Pat Archbold, Head of IntApp's Risk Practice Group. "Like many of their peers, Norton Rose adopted Wall Builder in response to client and professional drivers. But public recognition never hurts, and we congratulate them on the well deserved honor bestowed by their peers."
IntApp provide software products and services that enable law firms to achieve competitive advantage by exceeding client compliance requirements, increasing revenue, and reducing operational costs. IntApp's three practice groups (Risk, Revenue and Integration) focus on understanding existing pressures and emerging trends, and translate this knowledge into products and best practices. IntApp products are the most-adopted in their respective categories - Wall Builder for information barriers, ethical screens and client confidentiality management, Time Builder for time capture, and Integration Builder for application integration and master data management. According to an independent industry survey conducted by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA), IntApp Wall Builder is the most-adopted commercial information barriers software product by law firms with 150 or more lawyers.
IntApp serves over 200 customers, is endorsed by major software vendors across all categories, and has cultivated a vibrant partner community.
