The Charlotte region continues to show a great pool of talent with athletes coming from North Carolina and South Carolina.

A brisk, but sunny 50 degree day provided a nice Fall football day for kickers, punters, and long snappers to take their best shot at achieving a solid ranking on the National Camp Series (NCS) newly launched Kicking IndeX known as the KIX Player Index Rating.

"The Charlotte region continues to show a great pool of talent with athletes coming from North Carolina and South Carolina for this event," said Dan Orner, a former NFL Kicker, UNC, and NCAA record holder, of Dan Orner Kicking and Punting.

The event, held at the Charlotte Latin High School in Charlotte NC, was power packed with talented kickers, punters and long snappers, said Orner, who hosted the event.

The day was started off with huge field goals from Tyler Vinsin (2012), showing his ability to hit high towering kicks off the ground at any distance. Will O’Briant (2013) and Walker Reese Harrison (2014) also posted a great field goal score going 8 of 10.

“Vinsin had an outstanding day, showing that he could be a nice pick up for a Division 1 program. He hits a very clean ball off the ground that gets great elevation,” said Orner

The biggest kickoffs of the day came from Tyler Vinsin (2012), Zack Cimaglia (2012), and Will O’Briant (2011) each having multiple kickoffs sail in to the back of the end zone.

“O’Briant, a 2013 kicker, has made some huge gains in kickoffs over the last year and will make a play for one of the top kickers in the 2013 class," said Orner.

Tyler Vinsin (2012) showed the best command of the skill out of the punters turning over multiple punts of 50+ yards with 4.0 + hang times. Punters Zach Cimaglia (2012) and Will O’Briant (2013) each showed some towering 50 yd + punts.

According to Orner, long Snapper, Micah Martin (2012), left kickers and punters in awe with very accurate field goal snaps and punt snaps, showing he clearly has the ability to be a college snapper next fall.

Husted said he is looking to see many of the kickers who participated at the Charlotte event at the National Camp Series' Super Camp February 18-19, 2012, in Orlando, Florida.
